Manuals(and i am not talking about my friends...nor am i talking about doing harder things versus AUTOmatic)
Has anyone ever purchased a television without a MANUAL?
Has anyone ever purchased a car without finding out what is under the hood?...come on, even you ladies i know who have no idea what the difference is between the chassis and the transmission even pretend to look so that it looks like you know what you are doing.
And even you ladies who purchase fine clothing... before washing you ALWAYS look at the tag(How to care for the item).
So then why would anyone purchase a kitchen without finding out what is underneath the 'hood', or reading the 'maintenance guide' or instructions of how to take proper care of it?
Far too often do people try to save TIME and in good TIME end up paying for more TIME and more $$$.
In our business of residential interior design, we try to educate our clients on what they are purchasing from us-or any other- because everything they pay for is an "investment".(i wonder if in the earlier Victorian ages if people used to think 7 times before purchasing a home wondering if they will get a good return on their investment...i digress).
People are getting "I-WISER"(referring to ONLY internet based intelligence).
Everyone has ALL the information at their finger tips...(now weather they know what to do with it is another story)so you cannot hide anything anymore...and they are "googlizing" (I-rationalizing) how and why things should and can be installed.
So what are trying to say here?
While we are learning at the leisure and ease of our choice, we advice that you pay attention to how much 'time' will be put into an item that you SAVED(TIME and $$$) rather than something you will purchase with the strong confident knowledge of what it is and where it comes from and HOW TO TAKE CARE OF IT.
EVERYTHING IN LIFE NEEDS TENDER LOVING CARE.
I am going back and forth with my suppliers of exceptionally gorgeous solid wood walnut floors versus laminate floors...or marble bianco cararra stone versus porcelain full bodied rectified tile or man made quartz countertops...questions of 'what lasts', 'what with stands what kind of pressure and heat' and 'what is the "easiest" to maintain'...look at the most beautiful and sophisticated women in the world...are you telling me they were born that way or just woke up and found that in the mirror...???
EXACTLY...that's what i am trying to explain...READ your maintenance guides on the products you buy and if there isn't one ask your supplier or manufacturer for a link you can find of how to take care of your kitchen countertop surfaces or your engineered hardwood floors or even your glass shower enclosures.
And if you reach a road block...contact the PROFESSIONALS and we will help;)
